California Shutters and Shades LLC, trading as California Shutters (“we”, “us”), respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what choices you have.
Information we collect
When you submit a request through this website, we ask for the following. Only your first name, last name, and mobile phone number are required. Everything else is optional, and you may leave it blank.
- Your first and last name
- Your mobile phone number
- Your street address, city, and ZIP code (optional)
- Your email address (optional)
- Any notes you choose to add (optional)
- Whether you agreed to receive text messages, and the date and time you agreed
If you become a customer we also keep records of your appointment dates, your installation completion date, and metadata about messages we send you, such as delivery status and timestamps.
How we use it
We use your information solely to contact you about your enquiry, to arrange your appointments, to complete your order, and to invite you to leave a review after an installation. We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.
SMS and text message communications
We use Twilio as our SMS service provider to deliver messages on our behalf.
You can agree to receive text messages from California Shutters in two ways: by ticking the consent box on our contact form, or by telling us on the telephone when you book a consultation or installation. If you agree on the telephone, we first read you a short disclosure that names California Shutters and explains that message frequency varies, that message and data rates may apply, that you can reply STOP at any time, and that agreeing is not required to buy anything.
When you agree on the telephone, we record the date and time, your mobile number, and who took your consent.
We send exactly two kinds of message, and nothing else:
- One appointment reminder, sent the day before a scheduled consultation or installation.
- One review invitation, sent after your installation is complete, inviting you to leave a review. It contains a link to californiashutters.com/review.
The consent text reads:
I agree to receive text messages from California Shutters about my appointment reminders and, after my installation, one request for a review. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

- Your mobile number and opt-in data will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

- We do not send marketing, promotional, or sales text messages.
We do not send business-initiated text messages before 8:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Automatic replies required by mobile carriers in response to STOP or HELP may arrive at any hour; those are sent by the carrier network, not by us.
Who we share information with
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us operate: Twilio for text messaging, Google for email and record keeping, Resend for internal notifications, and Vercel for website hosting. Each processes information on our instructions only. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Message content received from customers is retained for 90 days unless it relates to an open matter.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving them.
- Ask us to delete your information by emailing sales@californiashutters.com or calling 954-235-8952. We will confirm once done.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, using the same contacts.
Children
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
